So was it just power steering fluid that leaked out?

What is on your parts list other than steering rack and front sub frame? Rear sub frame?

Glad the motor is ok.

The sump had cracked and the fluid was from there. Some part like the bar in the centre of the car got bended and I just let it be, not affecting anything anyway.

Sad to hear what happened Tesco. Sounds like you have everything you need though.
PPF = Power plant frame. Long frame that mates the engine together with the diff.
You should be able to source one of those quite easily. Many years ago, MX5 Plus had a few lying around.

P.S. I'm out of motorsport for at least half a year. Work taking over :(

Do I have to replace my Power plant frame? I am not sure about that.

Where can you come back to the race with us? The next one will be 2 weeks later.

If it's bent it would be a good idea. It's keeps the gearbox and diff lined op properly. Ppf that is too short puts stress on the engine and gearbox mounts.

Looking at the above posts. You should take it to a mechanic that has an idea about mx5's if there is any in Perth.

This is the beginnings of another gearbox incident for you

A big +1 on what Regie said.

If the PPF is bent you will have big issues. Mine was only slightly out of tolerance and was causing me problems. Your mechanic should know about this.

It's fine to go to friends, but only up to a point.
