Well given the dummy gauge is connected to a switch rather than a variable sensor, (activates at ~7 PSI), and only sends a voltage or not, then I don't see why this wouldn't work.
It would be akin to having two light globes wired in parallel.....

If you're willing to have a go then let us know how it works out!

Tried it ... but the light doesn't completely go out. It dims after starting the engine, but remains partially lit. There must be some sort of residual current there somewhere with the oem gauge connected. Thought it had to be too easy. Ah well ...

Went over to visit Hume today, the car is still in a 1000 pieces, all the repairs and painting have been largely done, they just need to put it all back together and check the alignment of everything....... So it'll be sometime later in the week, probably around Thursday, before it's ready to be collected, assuming there's no problems with the alignment. :|

Thanks mate, actually I had just finished installing all the parts and was taking it for a test drive when I had my whoopsie!

Now I can just head out and enjoy driving it with all my new parts for a while!

Welcome back!
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

She's a beauty! And looking factory fresh, so glossy!

Your car is now setup like it should have been from the factory, and looks like it just came out of the factory!

Yeah, it was an unexpected service from Hume Smash Repairs, the last thing done was a full 3hr+ top to bottom detail before being handed over!

I know that corner, I used to love riding my motorbike through there, it was a blast comming from a dimm tree lined road to the bright open space of that corner. We would stopand watch the hang gliders enjoying themselves before back on the bikes to enjoy ourselves again.

Yeah, it's a beautiful part of the world.
Used to ride the bike through there as well but at that stage I was living on the North side so more often would do the Old Pacific Highway.... I miss having a motorbike.....

No hang gliders this time as there were gale force winds from the West, probably would have been ok for them if they were looking for a cheap flight to New Zealand!

Only down side of the day was that I had a cop sitting on my tail for about 10km through some of the best bit...... :?

That's the way Dennis & Mick roll!

Always a professional, top notch job from Hume Smash! I intentionally use them instead of the insurance companies choice of repairer as you know you will get the job done 100x better with no hassles. Plus, it keeps the little, non-insurance owned workshops still in business!

Car looks great, glad you can now have some decent bum time in it enjoying the new mods!
