.. and mine included a lot of dispute resolution, often resulting from crap contracts. There's a difference between what's legally correct and what's good customer service. At some stage someone in a business like Moss would not like to think that they've charged some poor kid $150 freight on a $75 part without going back and checking first and the now story is getting about.

manga_blue I agree there is a big difference between what's legally correct and what's good customer service. Again I'm not saying Moss Motors is right however neither is not reading the fine print. The sad part is that Moss Motors may win it alone on the fine print and would need to make a business decision to credit back.

However if the OP was to tackle it from the terms and conditions were not agreed to at point of purchase then he has a very good case.

I have so many examples of bad contracts, bad scopes of work etc that I could use or me using the contract to split hairs and reject claims on a time bar or a procedural mistake, it is a two way street.

All true. I assume that Moss would like to be viewed as a trustworthy straight shooting business but they have some ill thought out business processes that get in the way of that for international customers. In my book they should compensate this victim and rework their processes.

post #2- Magpie identified freight / shipping is not applicable to Aust. Hejira got the invoice and e mailed but go an out of office. Apparently goods shipped but that may not be the case. If "you" want quick action you pick up a phone and talk to a salesperson in business hours. I dont understand giving out a credit card without seeing an invoice amount. Moss if folks don't know is a major supply of British Sports car parts and have been in business since 1948 and exporting all around the world. You would think their systems for invoicing / payment etc would be robust.

Yup, ring and chase to cancel the order. Shoulda done that rather than wasting the time posting on a forum.

Step 3: Billing, Shipping & Submit Order

This is the section where you stop when you see the shipping costs.

You are saying stuff without know how their system works. Comment when you have the knowledge to know what you are talking about.

PRR clearly you have not taken in what Magpie has pointed out and the post that you made 1 min earlier "step 3.seems to identify the caution. I think we will find that Moss after more than 50 years in business have worked out a reasonable system.

Considering the amount of time they have been in business and the amount of sales online I think their system is quite flawed by comparison to most other sites who are capable of setting their's up in a manner that supplies the correct information.

My point is that many are making comments (including yourself) on how mossmiatas system has somehow ripped of the OP. But haven't really any facts or knowledge of how their ordering system works. I did a dummy order to see how it works and to arm myself with the knowledge to know and comment how it works.

I really think the OP has just rushed through an order not paying attention to the details and dropped himself in it. As you posted earlier, he need to make contact asap and example his mistake, and attempt to cancel the order.

Again I agree with the last post. However the current law NORMALLY (not mandatory) requires that T&C's be agreed to before purchasing.

Moss does have all the information available to the purchaser, it is the purchasers responsibility to make themselves aware of the T&C's. Moss could improve by making the purchaser tick a box to acknowledge that they have read the T&C's, but they have been in business long enough to have had their procedures tested and put through the legal wringer.

Again it is buyer beware.

I have purchased products from Moss and always been quoted delivery charges, and been refunded for a faulty product promptly when adequate proof was provided. Always good to deal with.
