Side and rear shots suggest a palatable profile - if it's an "ND".
Without the front shot not sure if yet escaped some of those Edsel like proportions seen in SCOOP predictions and previews.

How can you see a white on black interior?
I can't see any interior?
But I can't really see anything at the moment.

Door trim in the bottom photo.

Very RX-8ish rear.

Shame they didn't get more shots of the front - I'm curious as to how the front drops away from the top of the wheel arch and how that would integrate with the current Kodo design language - the whole bonnet structure seems somewhat at odds with what we've seen in previous iterations.

You can see the kodo design in the pointy tail lights.

bonnet drops away quite aggressively towards the front, so you can tell where the engine placement is within the chassis. Its quite a way back and into the firewall by the look of it.

I wouldn't worry about the interior. It's a test mule, doubtful any current interior will make it to the mass production version.

Fair point, Prg.
It looks like a complete car though, just wrapped in camo.
I guess it's possible that the white that we're seeing inside is just the same camo applied to the interior.
I'm looking forward to seeing the inside more than the outside. The NC is a handsome car, as I'm sure the ND will be, but it's interior looks awful.

i dont find the NC handsome. personally i find it an poor attempt to modernize the na/nb look. while it is unique, it isn't wow.

what should be good about the nd, is its styling should be completely new being the kodo design. not like the nc where they attempted to make it look like the nb/na, ie head and tali lights and other various bits and bobs.

it's a whole new design mechanically and styling wise. so really it is totally a new era for the MX5. interesting things to come.

I agree, I used the word handsome to mean inoffensive if a bit forgettable.
The interior is not forgettable or forgivable, it's atrocious.

There is no other camoflage except the patterned paintwork. Since the car is released in less than a month this would be a production ready vehicle.

Oh dear! 7,614 cardigans just got throwm on the ground and fists raised! I don't mind the NC at all and if one came up at the right price I'd be interested - I will say I'm not a fan of the hardtop though, prefer rag as a better look

No fists need to be raised, I don't particularly think any mx5 is truly 'beautiful.'

I think I've just shot myself in the other foot...

Looks to me like an NC rag-top with the rear of its boot lid kicked in (and thus the number plate mounting area moved down) and the nose squashed down. Looks a bit Z4 ish at the back.

Agree with JBT, still looks like an NC.

I think it's very different, assuming it's not a test mule - although we're very close to release date and you'd wonder why they'd bother disguising a non-production body test car at this late stage:
- rear treatment different, including rear plate placement, sculpting between tail lights and boot lid, no defined sculpting on rear wheel arches
- side treatment quite flat compared to much more curved treatment of NC, particularly above mid-wheel level
- bonnet treatment very different, with pronounced drop off commencing just behind the rear wheels. The NC has a much more gradual drop through the length of the bonnet

It's more Z4ish to my eye.

Assuming this is even the damn shape...
