Welcome!
Yeah, get the NB8B - then in the meantime you can try out a few NAs, & when you've got more time & cash flow get an NA if they still appeal.

more rubbish from Dupain- NBs are not real MX5s- just nonsense and what experience if any or how many Kms has he travelled in an NB esp a 6 spd. Also terrible advice to buy a motorbike- amongst other things the parents would be horrified and the things are lethal. The NB 6 spd is a brilliant car.

pretty-sure it also came with ABS brakes...... but not 100%

the heritage was also 6 speed which is a NB8A

10AE had ABS, 6speed, Bilstein shocks, and an LSD (not 100% on ratio, but from memory shorter than the 3.6 in the later models)

Heritage had 6speed, ABS, and Bilsteins, not certain about the diff.

Personally, I'd go for the car that's in the best condition.

And that tends to be the NB purely on the fact that it's had 10 years less time for somebody to ruin it.

Welcome to drive my big stock mx5, nodded na6 and turboed NA6 . Three totally different experiences, aside from looking the same

Still, I'd go with the nb, just hate to think if you had an accident and you got hurt in an NA, your parents would be distraught especially after trying to help you into a newer car.

Mine is an NB so I'm not biased against NA. I've dríven many good and bad NAs, NBs, and NCs and can see Dupain is making a perfectly valid point.

Randomly stepping in and accusing him of talking rubbish is simply banal.

Are you seriously suggesting Dave that an NB is not a real MX5 . Read the thread posts and the fact that the parents were prepared to assist in buying a safer model ie NB. It has nought to do with banality but more to do with a bit of common sense. Cookie put it well I thought.

The car before my MX5 died because some guy didn't give way, drove straight out infront of me. Nothing I could do about it. No airbags. Not good.

I got an MX5 with airbags. Sometimes there's nothing you can do. The NB is a better car anyway. That's why it costs $5k more.

Get the airbags. You need your spine for the rest of your life.
