So you are telling me that the Great Wall ute is a better ute than my Falcon????

There are many reasons why the Australian car industry is closing down, a lot are because of near criminal negligence by the upper management of the parent companies, not because we produce sh*t cars compared to the Chinese.......

In the future they may reach the standards of the Koreans and Japanese, but not for a long time and not while they are building to a very low price and quality point.

The Irony is those Chinese Taxi's you are talking about had to be recalled and have the brakes changed.

"The affected cars have since been recalled, and the London Taxi Company - which is owned by Chinese company and Volvo parent Geely - says it has delivered a 30 percent improvement in braking performance."

Sorry, but there is absolutely no evidence that these fake Brembos are safe. Even if the counterfieters are working off of the designs/schematics from Brembo, they could be working with different tolerances, using different materials, using different construction methods, or any number of other variables that would compromise the quality of the product. The fact is you won't know how good the fakes are until you have them in your hands. Maybe you will luck out and get some Brembo quality brakes at a third of the price, or you could end up with some overpriced paperweights.

Genuine vs fake

Dupain you are really very deliberately annoying and plainly misinformed on anything to do with manufacturing or cars in general. You did get part of your forum name correct. I reckon you should have picked a moniker like Walter Mitty because clearly a number of things you have said seem like flights of fantasy.

You have not wasted anytime in explaining because the comments have been overwhelming unsubstantiated.

I don't think any of our regulars have any illusions about China being the current factory of the world though there are real misgivings backed up by feedback that there are shortcomings and short cuts taken and the subject was cheap fake Brembos.

If of course you really think that a Great Wall is a good product or for that matter a geeley taxi you could change your next Porsche or BMW for one of these fine Chinese automobiles. The pasta source- have you not understood that China has a very poor record when it comes to food safety. Clearly you must have been asleep with the deaths related to baby's milk. I choose not to buy food that I know is produced in China. Pollution is rife.

Did you make sure your pasta sauce came with the minimum required Melamine content? :|

The demise of the Australian car industry Walter pain has nothing to do with China. Clearly you have not got a handle on Ausralian car history. Insofar as Chinese cars in Aust are concerned they are comatose with very poor sales- that's easy to check. Australia certainly builds better cars than Chinese domestic.

I also doubt that you really know much about Toyota it's development and it's philosophy. The first of the really successful Toyotas were in the late 60s but the task for Toyota started long before that.
