Thanks. Track temp can make a big difference there, as soon as it's cold it's like ice. Never used semi's though so I'm trying to get some on the car asap but it might be a bit tight getting it by wintercup 3. I wouldn't bother with the old pilots again, I had to be very careful not turning in too fast otherwise it'd just understeer haha.

I can't recall exactly my first sector, I think it was high in the 8's or it might of been 9's haha. Mark's very quick indeed! As soon as I've got some fresh tread I'll enter as soon as I can.

Or good street tyres work well from what I've found. I set my PB on Toyo R1R's and they felt great. But if you plan on going to Mallala as well semi's are the way to go. In September the Nationals are being held there over two days. I'm tossing up weather or not to do it. Entries close on the 23rd of this month for wintercup 3 FYI.

Yeah, when the Pilot's were new many moons ago I managed a 38.86 running an essentially stock NA6 (lowered springs, intake) so I know there's more in them, though, I def need more seat time in the current guise. Once the cooling is sorted I'll be back at Mallala though so I also agree semi's are the way to go.

I reckon September's championship will be a go as well as maybe another come and try for testing purposes. I'll hopefully have the tyres and get the car on E85 by then.

E85, I like your style! You should give the Aerial Atom, that's started to run recently, a good scare by that stage! Ill be at Mallala this weekend, hopefully I dont blow the car up! First go in the SE out there. Largely stock but will still generate alot more heat than the old NA!

My wee little MX has had a bit of a beating as of recently. A mate had to pull out of a drift private day so I decided to have a go which was immense fun. Car performed well though, is a bit to soft and twitchy. Power was great and managed to finish off a set of tyres pretty quick and drive home in one piece. Unfortunately the next day I noticed the rad had split so I upgraded to a 52mm off ebay which is holding together. I got a fair bit of footage but nothing overly exciting and I simply cbfed going through all the spins and sillyness. Great fun nonetheless.

From the previous weekend I had another outing at my old faithful collingrove for a come and try day. I wanted to use the day to run some really old Advan's have me. To my suprise they were actually pretty grippy despite how old and hard they felt. I managed a new PB of 36.68 which I was happy with and I've ordered some new 595's for my next outing.


In the meantime I got some goodies from Nitrodann.


Gonna take her off the road for a little bit to install the reroute, studs and locking hardware, repair the cracked dump and reseal my sump which is starting to leak a fair bit. I'll also look at taking out any unwanted weight that's left (I did just remove in cabin aircon and stereo).

MX5 had a big break while I've been off playing Evo. Mate decided to do a drift day for his birthday so I figured why not dust off the old girl and spin out a few (or many) times:






Great day. Unfortunately I've had a pretty decent rear main (teach me for not using OEM) and after the drift day it was coming out pretty bad (as well as a few other places). The plan has always been to go 1.8 anyway so now's the perfect time to get stuck into the conversion.

Have had trouble finding a good 1.8 but I did manage to find one in pieces for an absolute bargain with a whole heap of spares so it'll be good to have a tinker and see how I go building one.

The plan was to go turbo again however I've always had a desire to build a half decent NA and since my Evo fills my turbo kicks I'm thinking this will be the likely path I'll take.
