NC Car Cover

Postby doc » Thu Sep 25, 2014 2:06 pm

Seems I'm moving and my little MX will have to be parked outside in the driveway.
Wondering if anyone knows the best place / price for a custom fit NC car cover?

I have a brand new, fitted once one here that I'll let go.
Got it from MX5 parts UK
Busy today and away over the weekend.
PM me Monday and I'll see what it's worth.
In Sydney but can post if you're interested.

I think it's this one but I'd need to check

Yes I would indeed be interested if the price is right.
Will try to P.M. you Monday, Will be moving this weekend so not sure how long it will take to get my internet hooked up.
Using the work computer is possible, but difficult.
So if you don't hear from me Monday, you will soon after.

Just bought one from Autobarn $132 with discount, normal price $139
It is very similar and has a zipper for the drivers door if you need to get something from the car without taking the cover off

But is it a "Custom fit" Cover? Universal covers tend to not fit snuggly and flap about on windy days, thus destroying ones paint.

Here you go....
http://www.covercraft-pacificshop.com/index.html

My mum got a cover made for her Pugeot while it had to live outside, full custom cover, including a "tail" for the antenna. Was good strong material survived wind and rain storm and ash from the last fires in the Blue Mountains. Hasn't scratched the paint at all.

I will be getting these guys to make a couple of covers for me, one for my charger and one for the S14 when it's finished.

It is not fitted like the other one over the mirrors and if you haven't got a stubby antenna you have to remove it
It has a very good elastic hem all the way round and to tie downs to go under the car it is a great fit.
I looked at the covercraft ones they are 4 ply and well made but at $240 and seeing that mine is mainly to keep dust off in the garage the Autobarn one will be quite ok
Seeing that yours is for outdoor use the extra money would probably be well spent
