Anyone know where to buy Chaparral wheels in Australia ?

I want to get a set of Chaparral S 15 wheels but the only option I can find is to buy from either RSpeed or GoMiata. Problem is shipping from the US is over $1000 which works out to be more expensive than the wheels. Anyone have any ideas to how to source these locally or get cheaper shipping ?

I had a set of Chaparral wheels, around 7 years ago They were actually imported by pcmx5 of this forum. I believe he brought in 3 sets. My set have changed hands around 3 times so far.

I'd suggest sending pcmx5 a private message and ask him where he got them from?

You have the wheels delivered to the re-shipper and they then ship them to Aust. I've not used any of these services, however I believe others here have.

I got mine from R Speed and as you know at the time they were around $900 or so shipped.

I would certainly shop around for freight as on Ebay shipping "Internationally expedited" has suddenly become much cheaper. eg A while back a glass windowed softtop would cost almost as much to ship as to buy and a few weeks ago I imported one for my mate John and it cost $580 Aus $ landed with a new premium rainrail of which $77 Aus was freight; set of Coilovers weighing 20 kg cost $115 Aus.frieght.

Still love the Chapparals and think that they now fit bigger brakes unlike my set.Always getting asked where i got them.

Just checked it was $77 US to freight the soft top,still amazingly cheap!

Ok just to give you an alternative(especially on shipping) the Enkie Classic Compe in 15x7 38 et is available shipped to Aus for $839 US(1049 Aus) from Rev9.Their shipping cost is $250 US for the set!!!

Rota Rb's also look good and a few mates have them,try Aspec wheels on Ebay.
