My tyres are fine! [pokes tongue out and smiles!]

Seriously, I will be surprised if it rains, supposed to today and not a damn drop so I had to water the garden

If it's damp then so be it, I won't like it but I will accept it

Might just have to come in the Mazda 6 with the box trailer full of furniture

So Stu, are you suggesting a new class... Trailering? Could be messy. I think my little trailer tyres might self destruct past 160.

Full sun most of the day, dry track and cold air. PB-setting conditions, and in a big way for me. Improved by 1.9 seconds over my last time at Lakeside in the dry, 51 weeks ago. Somehow managed to squeeze a 63.8 out on my second last lap of the day, I knew the car had a 63 in it but didn't think I did myself. Couldn't be happier :D

Well done to all who posted PB's - Trackphotos, MINX and Zoe Short [red 86] to name a few

Special thanks to Doug, AJ, Bob, Andrew, Barb, Anton & Ricky the QR Staff for giving us a very special day!! We all had fun so thanks team

Also, thanks Adam for your attentive organisation.

Special mentions to Peter & Tom Battison for your special efforts today, Peter flew up from Canberra this morning and was met by son Tom who drove the NB8A down from Bundaberg, picked him up at the airport and they spent the day together on track! Then after the meet Peter caught a train from Dakabin [adjacent to the track] down to Eagle Junctionm and a train change to the airport for his flight home! - well done guys and a pleasure to have you with us

Six runs for the day is not bad for an afternoon meet between 1.00pm - 4.00pm

Not fantastic for me, just couldn't get the brain and car in synch but managed to get within 1.7 secs of my PB so I was happy with that

What a great day! Thanks as ever to Adam, the club and QR for a well organised and run meeting, and the work to put it on.

Sadly my mate with the Hyundai Cup Car was laid up with the flu, and was gutted to miss out. I had another work colleague turn up with his camera so I should be able to put up some photos in the coming days.

I was looking forward to finally getting out in the dry and setting some times, so it was a relief the rain held off. I had a terrible first session, something in the mid to high 1'14s, no feel for the car and felt fairly freaked out. Decided to drop the top for the next two sessions, just try and enjoy it and get some feel back.

Felt in a much better place and put the roof up for the last two sessions - the roof is seriously worth 3-400 rpm in fourth down the pit straight, big difference in straight line speed!

Rapt to knock out a 1'09.1680 in the last session and find 5.5 seconds over the course of the day Quick shifter must have been great, I have no specific memory of it at all (although for me at Lakeside it is literally just four shifts a lap, and all between 3rd and 4th) so must have been fine. Brakes held up great, car ran well. Had some Superpro bushings put on the sway bars and I'm sure they made the roll a lot more controlled and progressive.

Nice to finish the day in a bit of a formation with some similarly paced cars which made for a nice rush to end on.

My PB lap of the day. Still got work to do on the last turn on to the pit straight.

Onboard from what turns out to be my second quickest lap. I thought I only did a single 63.8, somehow I missed the first one appearing on the phone at the top of the windscreen. Only a couple of hundredths difference, and they both look much the same, so here's the second quickest.

Yeah, straight up cut and paste fail.

Great running, Ross. You were pretty toey about running in Group 1!

Hey, does anyone know how to download lap times from LapCeiver in Windows 7? I've tried to download the software but it seems it won't play in Win7.
