Nice work Ray... Where did you get the work done, and what cat did you use?

Thanks Broady

I got the work done at Performance Exhaust in Northmead

Not sure about the CAT but it's got a 200 cell cat (not sure of terminology). It's the type that doesn't disintegrate when things go wrong.

Haks knows his sh*t and has a great attention to detail - he complimented Mazda on making our cars so easy to work on LOL

Yeah I've heard super good things about him. I'm thinking of getting a new cat, as well as a resonated midpipe to quieten down my exhaust... might have to get in contact with him

I've been a tad busy lately but do have some updates - will take some pics when I have a free moment

In the meantime - I've kinda gotten sick of my MX5 looking like a remote control car because of the large black rubber antenna...

So I just got this delivered today from MX5Parts UK:

Image

It's about 15cm and is MUCH shorter than the one I have right now :)

Hopefully a pic of my new seats and a video of my exhaust will be available to all in the next week or so :)

nice ride there Ray. I often see you on Victoria road as i live near gladesville. Could i ask how much it was to get the exhaust installed?

Hey mate,

Yeah, I rock an IS200 as a daily now and my MX5 hardly gets any action nowadays

I think it was about $400-500 from memory (which included a new high flow cat and welding)

Eitherway, it was a good deal and I'm very happy with his handywork :)

Cheers,

Made a short with my flip camera - sorry for the crappy sound, i think the echo in my garage is screwing with the audio.

Will do an outdoor attempt next :)

Sounds pretty raspy Ray... but more importantly how do YOU like it?

Come out on Sunday?

Raspiness doesn't kick in during daily duties in bumper to bumper traffic :D

Can't do Sunday unfortunately, I've got a photoshoot planned - Maybe next time?

I don't think the clip shows the true sound, i reckon it sounds better in person!

Battery died today and just dropped over battery world for a replacement Federal jobbie...

When I took it out, I was surprised to see that I was still rocking the original Panasonic OEM battery!

My car was manufactured in 1991 - so it's lasted all of 20 years... not a bad effort Panasonic!

How did you change the illumination color of your guages? My speedo has a dark patch at around 70-80km/h and its almost impossible to see at night, make it hard to make sure I"m not over the speed limit. Is there something behind the guage that lights it up?

I have checked the instrument illumination dial and its maxed out.
