I am in the process of purchasing a 1990 Miata for my drift build this winter and I was wondering if anyone had any input on it

If not I'd suggest it's best to do some first, skidpan days etc, to get a feel for the car as it is. Once you've got some practice with a basic car you will be more able to understand what it is you need/want to do with it to suit you.

Ignore the build. Fix anything that needs fixing. Go drive and change things as you find specific problems.
