Also, thanks dweezle.
This is definitely a time where it's good to be wrong.

I find it pays to go to the horses mouth on these matters, especially when something seems a bit to good to be true ...

Paying GST on imported goods

The Australian Customs and Border Protection Service (ACBPS) collects GST on taxable importations. The GST payable is 10% of the value of the taxable importation.

The value of taxable importation is the sum of:
•the customs value of the goods
•any customs duty payable
•the amount paid or payable to transport the goods to their place of consignment in Australia
•the insurance cost for that transport

Source: here

Subject to any relevant by-laws, goods that qualify for certain customs duty concessions and are also non-taxable for GST include the following items from schedule 4 to the Customs Tariff Act 1995:
...
•item 26 Goods, other than tobacco, alcohol and bulk orders, with a value less than an amount prescribed by by-law (currently at or below $1,000).

Source: here

And I am sure everybody is aware of the move to reduce this threshold, and the risk of finding that it drops between ordering and receipt of the goods.

Jeez. They're not as cheap as they used to be. Iirc I paid 135us each plus 160 us for 3 day shipping for a set of 4 and a big radiator. They're lovely wheels though, so light. Although the paint is rubbish. The cardboard box rubbed off some of the paint in transit!

Rs3 is a popular street choice. Ebay had the best deal at 750 delivered iirc.

Yes, as much as I like the AD08R, the 595RS-R is also a good tyre. I find myself spoiled for choice!! I am planning to upgrade my NA6 to do more track work. It will still be used on the road but not often. With the tyres, I am seeking the compromise of tyres that will be good on the track but won't look bald on the road and draw the police onto me which I know can be a problem with some of the semi-slick tyres.

Happy to receive the forum's advice!!

Hi Cookie,

I paid $129 USD for each wheel and $250 USD for delivery but with the RRRS dropping out of the AUD, it bumped the price up a bit. But, yes, they are a light wheel (which is what I was looking for) and I like the look of them as well, so I am happy with them and the cost.

Cheers,
