You can cut down bump stops to increase suspension travel but you have to be really careful not to cut too much off or you'll damage something.

If you're using koni shocks you can do something similar to what I've done and slip some threaded sleeves over the shocks to turn them into adjustable coil overs. Takes a bit of research and measuring to figure out what spring and bump stop lengths to get.
I'm using SE Bilsteins with 7kg/mm and 5kg/mm 2.5" coil-over springs and it's quite balanced and very smooth over bumps.

My rear shocks deal fell through so this thread is pretty much defunct since I'll just offput suspension changes probably for another 6 months to a year.

Regardless, I plugged in 7kg front and 4kg rear, and it keeps bounce frequency below 1.8, keeps really close to original FRC and increases roll stiffness. Australian roads aren't ultra-smooth but it'll be smooth enough.

Is this what I want? Why does the 3:2 ratio not hold here? (I heard that somewhere that was the go for MX-5s.)

The spring rate ratio shown for the stock car on that spreadsheet is 3.5:2 (164:97 lb/in), which is what 7:4 is. Hence similar FRC.

Cheers

Cheers. Derp, that should have been picked up by me.

Is anyone running 7/4?

Why did you go 1kg higher on the rear bartmanftw?
I guess this is my signature.

Tbh I can't remember haha. I think it was either the bounce frequencies were closer or that rate suited the shocks better but I've removed the rear sway bar to retain the balance so it's similar to a F7 R4.

I'm thinking of going 10 / 7.5. Given I already have the 10 kg/mm spring from the rear shocks I'll order a pair of 7.5 for the rear. Should be a good compromise from what I had (6/5) and what would be a full track setup of 14/10.
