Yokohama AD08R's

Postby Joshhh » Tue Oct 27, 2015 8:25 pm

Hey everyone, have recently read much about the AD08R's and I've come to the conclusion that they seem like an excellent tyre and am very keen to try them out. I'm in Brisbane and was wondering if anyone knew a good place to purchase these? Any cheaper shops? I got quoted $260 through Bob Jane and was wondering if this is a good price! Cheers.

Note: fitment is 205/45/16.

Price wise http://www.worldtimeattack.com/index.php/control-tyre-price-list/

I have the contact details for the Yokohama dealer in Brisbane if it would help. Any thoughts about using a 15" rim as it is easier to find tyres in 15" than 16".

Hey thanks magpie! I have thought of 15" but I recently spent a bit on 16" wheels so I'll stick with 16s. Thanks for the website though I'll keep that in mind.

I saw on telly that yokohama had a four for three sale on.
Got excited but the Internet confirms that this doesn't include the ad08r :(

Definitely doesn't include AD08r's.
I just bought 205 x 16 x 50 for $220 each fitted from Don cornell at Bexley.
I wanted 225 x 45 x 16 but none in stock for a month they tell me. Its the second set for me and I can't see myself buying anything else. Yes, they are that good. buy them, you won't regret it. They are so much better than my previous Michelin PS3 its not funny.

I have found a problem with the yoko's. ................................The rest of the world are not using them, so on the road your just left feeling annoyed, in the rain you find yourself being frustrated. They are just to good, the rest of the motoring community might as well be driving on black ice with 55 psi in there hoops :D

I'll post a photo of the wear on my AD08's and provide an estimate of track/road usage to give you an idea of the wear.

I got 20k from my set on my na. Daily and many many mountain runs. (1/week)
Worked better with less pressure, 28 psi on 15s. Even wear
On sold them and he drove on them for a few more thousand.

I tried several dealers last year for the 4 for 3 deal. All said out of stock. With hindsight think they all meant the deal didn't apply to AD08Rs. Would have been easier if they'd just said so.
UK since return: Standard NC2 (horrid), C200K, ND2 BBR, NC2 BBR200 (loved it), NC BBR300 (better than BARMY), V-Special, turbo NB8B (my 84th car)
