Absolutely. I've messaged Kirk and hope to hear back from him soon. I'm extremely interested in that car and he lives in the same city as me.

Well, I bought the red car for $6,000.00

Picking it up in three days time. My dad took it for a drive and gave it the thumbs up. The paintwork was great, a few scratches but they were minimal and it was very shiny. There were a couple of 3 inch rips in the soft top which I'll replace, but the top works fine. There was a wear in the drivers seat at the very side, which is unnoticeable but again, I'll probably get new seats anyway because comfort/fun/etc. Anyway, she's solid at the core and OMG driving it was AMAZING!!!

:)

Woo! Congrats! Once you get the car home, I bet you'll be looking at it every 20 minutes, smiling, and imagining all the adventures to come.

Regarding the rips, my recommendation is find another one off the same model car, as a one piece unit (vinyl and frame together) that was removed from a crashed car or something, as it's much easier and cheaper than to buy the vinyl and fit it or get someone to fit it.

A good one go for around $400

Thanks for the suggestion. I know you can get a cover that fits over the area where the soft top sits when its down... what do those go for?

And you have no idea how excited I am. I had to contain my excitement as I took it up to 100km per hour with the top down and felt how well it drives. It might only be the 2000 model, but it's a huge improvement on my current car.

My first car is a 1997 Ford Festiva, still have it, so I can totally relate :)

The cover that you are mentioning goes for around $100, but make sure you get one for your model because the one for the previous model is slightly different.

Ok, cheers.

My car is so old now it might have to go to the wreckers because it probably won't pass RWS :( Which saddens me like crazy because she still runs okay, she just has a few issues like rust etc. I bought her when I was 18, and drove her across the Nullabour twice. I LOVE driving and like to drive everywhere. I even drove to Shark Bay in WA from Perth which is 8 hours north and in the middle of nowhere.

Congratulations on your purchase.
Get used to smiling more often and spending more on sunscreen.
Greg.
When you turn your car on, does it return the favour?

$50-$100
It might only be the 2000 model
Nothing wrong with the 2000 NB8A, as long as its priced accordingly, which this one was.

Thanks everyone.

The car runs amazing, but man my hair got messy on the highway between Brissy and Gold Coast. :P Getting it regased tomorrow so I can blast the aircon and drive with top down, wasteful but fun :)

Sorry about the bad images, and my dirty parking space... but you can see my old mirage sitting there. It's going up for sale soon. Anyway, thanks for everyone's guidance as it helped me hold out for a good deal instead of purchasing an overpriced car. :)

Yes... the joys of having long hair and a convertible

Many giggly, joyful miles ahead of you. It's a fun way to look at Christmas lights if you're into that.

Mx5 Christmas light looking is the best. Last year I let her decorate the car with tinsel an baubles on the rollbar. Even found some battery powered lights haha.
