So what sort of software do you use?
I'd also like to make short films and am wondering if a dslr would be ok or would I be better getting a video camera for film and a dslr for pics?

Depends what you're after. I haven't delved much into film myself but I've picked up a few things here and there. A DSLR would be the go to, don't bother with a video camera, no one uses them (Unless you're talking 10k+ cameras people use for movies). Any cheap Canon will do, as they have software you can load onto them called magic lantern. Pretty much gives you all you need for video. You'll also want an external microphone(s) and a lens to suit. A lens not really designed for video won't have a smooth focus and you'll hear it as you focus on different things while videoing. Though there isn't really a "photo" lens and a "video" lens, well there is, but there's nothing stopping you using either for either purpose. I use a lens designed for video for photos, it just has a massive focus throw (part of the barrel you turn to focus), which makes focusing in video super smooth. You'll just have to find what works for you.

I should mention there is some colour editing too! I messed with the reds, blacks and temperature. Maybe a few others, I forget now.

I've finally completed full exhaust and intake with the addition of an arc intake chamber

Here's how it sounds now:

Updates:

Roll bar and stickers added and have Hawk HP+ brake pads coming in the mail

Roll bar is the torque box from Auto+.

Be aware "Tinting may be applied to the upper portion of a windscreen of a motor vehicle. The tinting must not extend lower than a horizontal line connecting the uppermost points of the arcs swept by the vehicle manufacturer’s original wiper blades or the upper 10 per cent of the windscreen, whichever is the lesser. The tinting may be of any shade."

Notwithstanding still looks very tidy!

Haha yeah I know, going to see how long it will last before someone pulls me over and complains. I saw your car at auto+ when I went to go pick mine up too ;).

I collected it on Saturday (used the trailer). It was having some minor surgery, pre-track service/inspection and checking up that I had tightened everything after doing the radiator. Also caught up with Danny on Saturday afternoon to discuss aero and work 'stuff'.

The banner that was required for WTAC (2015) I actually enjoyed, however when the car was still on the trailer (and all the WTAC stickers) I asked some police officers if the banner was legal. The reply was not by the looks of it... Funny, my other half was in getting coffee (McDonalds) when the same police came in and were talking about wanting to get a closer look at the car they were just asked about. My other half said it was not like a 'gotcha' conversation between them but more of we want to 'check it out as it looks good'.

So far those police people have not got there closer look

I may get a simple black banner or some very dark window tint to put at the top of my windscreen.

As I said your car is looking very neat, however the mariner blue one next to yours would get my vote (based on colour alone)

Excellent, was wondering what it was doing there, they parked me next to yours when I picked mine up ;)

I don't blame you, I like blue better and it's also 300+ hp.

Few little updates:

Installed Jass performance headlights. A lot of fiddling around to get them to project light correctly, the housing that screws to each side of the headlight will need to be modified a little as it catches the front bumper on closing. Other than that, they look great and they are so much less intrusive when they're up compared to the stock headlights.





On last months end of the Friday run, the top of my radiator split - right on top of the mountain too. Limped the car home and promptly replaced it. Upon replacing it, since it was thicker than stock, I could no longer keep the arc intake installed so I reverted back to stock.


Going back to the stock intake cross over pipe made me lose a very noticeable amount of torque and power. So I wondered if a Na8 intake would fit as I could no longer use the space in front of the engine for an intake to dip down into. Turns out it does fit with silicon joiners. There is a contact point with the bonnet to the right of the intake and it leans on the coolant line going to the top of the radiator. I will probably modify it a little so that these contact points don't occur and remove the support bracket, but for the time being it works perfect. I did a track day the next day and it held together perfectly. The power I lost was now regained and I'm happy again! Here's a photo:




I also got some solid door bushings - they work well not much else to say.

And also got these delivered today, Nitto Nt01's for use on my track days. Looking forward to using them.

I bought it used so cannot comment on what it's like new. There are so many points of adjustment which is the fiddly bit. When installing you have to align a bracket and drill holes for the new arms to attach to, so you have to make sure they're the same on each side, then there's adjusting the arm length which controls how far up and down it goes, then there's the screws with springs in them to adjust the angle of the light. Took a fair while to get them all aligned right. Simple but fiddly. There's heaps of instructions online though to help with it.
