MX5 NA

Postby cs » Sat Apr 02, 2016 6:32 pm

Hi all!

I am new here.
I don't know too much about MX5s, but I would like to buy an NA in the near future. I am fully aware that it can be risky, thus a little help would be great. I will need someone specialized in these cars and able to give me some advice or even go and have a look together. Basically I'm looking for something in good, and unmolested condition, don't really care about year/model/ but hardtop is a bonus (not essential if it is the right car, but aircon is a must). My first 3 cars were aircooled beetles back in Europe ~20 years ago, so I'm very well trained:)
Can anyone suggest a mechanic or whoever has the knowledge? I live in Sydney east, and I want a hobby car.
Many thanks in advance.

Csaba.

I'm looking for something similar, but over in SA. Will post a link of a very clean car in a sec, trying to work out if it's a good deal or not.

Welcome! MX5 Mania (North West of Sydney) probably do pre-purchase vehicle assessments, but you'd probably need to take the car to them. Not sure if NRMA does pre-purchase vehicle assessments anymore, so best to check with them. I'm sure there would be other qualified pre-purchase vehicle assessors in Sydney, but again you will most likely need to take the vehicle to them. Perhaps a Sydney forumite can suggest a good mechanic on the outskirsts of the CBD - unfortunately don't recall any being recently mentioned on here in that area. But again you're most likely going to have to take the vehicle to them, so you'll need to do research to initially identify a good prospect for a pre-purchase vehicle assessment, & this will help: viewtopic.php?f=73&t=18802
