Yep, you can put this one on my list as well. I am far too fond of my wine and cheese. Weighed in yesterday at 88.3kg. Target weight is 80kg. Maybe we should start a 'Lite is Rite' thread to track our weight loss efforts through the year?

I Kinda have the opposite going blackleaf & Red Dragon......in 30/12/15, I broke my neck, C2 cervical spine in 3 pieces after getting dumped on my dumb ass head in the surf- I didn't know for over 2 hours cause I thought I just jarred my neck big time- fortunately, prior to getting dumped in the surf, having had been power lifting weights for a few years & was able to bench press over 160kg- I had a lot of neck meat keeping the broken bone in place, chunky trap muscles had literally saved my life!! After going to the hospital at the wife's insistence 2 hours after getting dumped in the surf and learning the extent of the injury, I was unable to drive for 3 months  or work :? and with 4 to 6 months of recovery for the broken bone and tendons to heal, various stop start back at gym in the past 2 months and just starting now back at the gym beginning January 2017, (12+ months of not training    ) Dropped from 105kg to 80kg, now back up to 90kg, and really wanting to get back to at least 100kg and seeing how close I can get back to what I was Lifting- (though I'm not Worried about fitting into the problem child, I'm vertically challenged at 178cm....... actually I'd say I'm down a cm or 2 now )

Holy crap Daffy!
Am glad that you recovered.

On another note I think I can bench about 20kg. Lol

My goals for this year are to get my 5 back on the road and put some kms on her.

Could also get rid of another car or two so I can finally get my mini out of the house and into a garage...

How many powerlifters, or strength/weight lifters do we have here? I'd like to hear your goals.

Nice bench Daffy, how were your squat and bench? I'm chassing PBs from several years ago still, but hopefully this will be my year. My main lifting goal is a 200kg squat - and to not mess my back up again on deadlifts.

Also, I saw 100kg on the scales the first time ever after a week of eating and drinking in Victoria, so I got a bit of a firght and I'm dropping back down to 90kg. For the last 2 years I've been around 95-97kg. Already down to 96.5kg

powerlifter here.

2017 goals are to adjust my training since first born. Can't do the volume i was before hand. just don't have 10 hours a week to train.

would like to get the following some time in 2017.

squat - 200kgs - not likely but i will try (previous best of 175kgs at about 8.5 rpe)
bench (paused of course) - 135kgs - i will get this (previous best of 127.5kgs at about 8.5rpe)
deadlift (not sumo) - 235kgs - i will also get this (previous best of 227.5kgs at about 8rpe)

body weight is around 89kgs atm but looking to drop down a little bit or at least re comp with a bit less fat. I compete at 83kgs but can do a pretty easy water cut of around 4kgs without sweating.

don't think i will compete in 2017.
98 evo gold - rotrexed and loving it.

‪Haha, Popeye and I did have some in common.......with getting into fights over women when I was younger  . ‬
‪Thankfully the C2 has mended back 99% and with the bit of recent weight training (I'm on par with that 20 kg press at the moment too Speed  ), the muscle memory though has seen a bit of my neck and trap muscle regrow that has sorted a lot of the scar tissue that surrounded the bone, so there is only very minimal pain now on a full head turn. As for them big Kw smy0003, I guess I've always liked the idea of big surprise from a small package!
ManiacLachy, I've always been into training in some shape or form- in my 20's (from 1989 to 1998) I was fortunate in having (as one of a few different jobs) been a Garbo in Sydney- 3 runners, 30 odd km's of tennis player style running about 25 tonnes of weight loaded per truck per run- on top of this I hit the weights as well as some martial arts training. At that time I never got over the 75kg and a very low body fat count. I never entered comps as such though.‬
‪Doing the shift work now days Im in the same boat as 16bit where I just don't have the time to put in the big hours at the gym. Worst part of when I did my neck is I was at a point where I didn't have to do much to maintain the strength and I'm basically at a start from scratch point again. Muscle memory should see me build up some good strength soon enough, but at 47 its definitely going to take longer. As for the legs, I need my knees to hold up when Im older, in the garbo days though I did push some ridiculous weight.
160kg bench press was just a single rep PB, but I was able to get heavy set 3 to 6 reps up to 140kg on the bench, arm curls @ 80kg on the dumbells and upright rows with 90kg + an olympic weight bar as some of what I did pre injury!‬ Onward and upward......with track days soon  (ps great effort 16bit, I reckon you'll hit them marks well!)

(Ps I didnt start the powerlifting until I was 39 years old- RE the PB 160kg bench press when I was 45 years old!!
But bearing in mind if we think power to weight, my PB of 110kg bench press at 27 years old at just over 70kg trumps anything I've done in the last 2-3 years
