URGENT – want to borrow clutch alignment tool (Qld)

Postby Hoolio » Sat Nov 04, 2017 9:46 am

Hi,

Can anyone lend me a clutch alignment tool today? NA/NB fitment. I'm between Brisbane and Ipswich, can collect from anywhere within reasonable striking distance.

Alternatively, I'll buy one if there is anywhere be open today which stocks one. Any suggestions?

I also need a clutch pilot bearing but I should be able to buy one at a bearing shop. Is it a common size? Mine has got no numbers marked on it.

All these should be available at automotive places- Repco etc- even in country towns they carry or point you in right direction.

Dowel and insulation tape. Or use finger tips and feel through pressure plate openings for central position before tightening down (my usual method).

Yep, that's where I'm heading. I went to some Repco and Supercheap stores yesterday, and all they stock is so-called “universal” tools for clutches without a pilot bearing. I think that I could do better by eye.

The pilot bearing, on the other hand, was easy. It's the ubiquitous 6202 which can be found on every street corner.
