Jack securing piece in boot - same NA and NB?

Postby twr7cx » Wed Dec 06, 2017 8:45 am

Anyone able to advise if the screw down piece that holds the jack in place in an NA is the same as in an NB? Mine is missing and I'm looking to source a replacement, there is a local wrecking an NB that I can acquire it off if they are the same.

I am not 100% sure but I just removed one from a NC and it seems very similar to the NB. I can’t imagine that they changed it.

I have an NA and an NB. I'll check for you.
Also in Hobart.

Titanium NB MX-5 2002
White NA MX-5 1990 "Bianca"
Previous:
Red NA6 MX-5 1990 "Miranda"

the "T" bolt is the same.

this is an NA6 jack in the boot of an NB8. also shows how the NB battery is sunk into the floor rather than sitting on it like an NA. front of the car is to the left.

My car was missing this too. A bolt with a washer will secure it perfectly and is a nice simple solution.

Yeah that was my last resort. I’d love to keep the car as stock original as possible hence chasing the correct parts.

Yeah that's fair enough. I have to carry a small shifter around to facilitate access to my spare wheel and jack ;) But it's part of a basic few tools I leave in the car which may come in handy if she ever breaks down.

I can confirm that the NC Jack retaining bolt is identical to the NB version.
I have 1 spare if you want it.
