There are are 2 levels of mod plates in qld. Well 2 types of people who can do them. There is the standard mechanic qualified modplater and then there is the engineer qualified engineer certificate modplater. You get each mod certified in qld, not the total car (like i beleive nsw is).
The simpler mods is what the standard mod plater can certify. The more hairy ones is what you need the engineer for.they charge different costs.
Ive never heard of an $800 engineer cert in qld like dan said - though thats common in nsw. but it may add up to that if you have several things that need doing
When you get them done make sure you go to TMR and have them put on the system. It will save you lots of headaches in the future.

Thank you Riley. I'd like to have turbo setup, brakes, sparco seat and roll bar engineered. Possibly the coil overs if need be. Can't think of anything else but happy to pay what it costs.
You're right about the engineer checking the entire car to ensure it meets NSW regulations and not just the mods I'd want engieered. Includes ride height etc. Then the engineering is linked to the chassis number of the car.
The big relief is that I don't have to mess around with epa tests.
In NSW we have to book in an available date and then attend for a free test.
If it fails I'd have to go back to the tuner, pay more money and then book in for another epa test. The time and effort alone is annoying and then there is the additional tuning costs.
