Thx Daffy - I also hope it works out as planned. I’ll miss driving it while I’m doing the update and will only be doing it every other weekend or so but thought I may as well as do it over summer as over winter. Ideally it will be back on the road in Autumn.

Re: What have you done today/recently to your 5?
After 12 years of being used as a luggage rack for boards, kayaks, fishing gear and building materials the old rollbar was starting to look a bit tired. I took it out and resprayed it with paint left over from the wheel restoration. So now there's matching Graphite bar and wheels.

This rollbar was only the second mod out of dozens that I made to the car. When I think about it I realise this is the most practical, most useful mod for me ever. Originally bought for track safety I had no idea it would become so important in transforming an MX5 into a workhorse for the house renovator and coastal sportsman.

They seem to be getting more popular for honda boys state side (Mugen rebadged them for a while i think, may have been Spoon?) i saw a photo of a red NSX with that colour and the original decals and it looked amazing.
we will have to catch up soon, i think i still have an MX5 in the garage..... i haven't taken it for a drive in ages

maybe it needs a run up the coast to blow some dust off

I wondered what was happening with those wheels, alex. I had a look on Yahoo Japan a few weeks ago thinking I might pick up a spare or two next time I go to Tokyo. Then I saw sets for 600,000Y and battered singles for 70,000Y and thought "F#<k me, what's going on here!!!"

I ripped the lip off the carrot trying to reverse out. I have a feeling I have to raise it again just to get it out onto the street haha.
Dad got the RF sideways trying to reverse up aswell.
Edit: Ok wow I missed the joke
