It cost me $500. I didn’t claim as that would have meant queuing up behind all the car yard claims which got in earlier. Depends on how bad they are - I could see five but then under fluorescent light he found more. Got a feeling has has more than he can cope with at the moment...

Drove north to Brisbane, spent the holidays playing cars and sadly was too busy to take a cruise to Mt. Glorious/Nebo even though we were situated only 16 odd km from Samford village. One day soon...

Also finally summoned the courage to drill holes into my beloved lightyear carbon hardtop and mount it.
Much relieved to have it fitted neatly.

Nope, to be honest do not plan on changing either. The Winmax 6.5's have performed very well for me so far. If anything I am thinking of trying the W7's!

How many track km do you reckon you got out of those Winmax 6.5s? Just curious and the reason I ask is that I've been running PFC 11 on the front for the last 18 months, probably done about 1500 track km, pads are 1/3 worn (2/3 remain) and new rotors have zero lip yet. Quite progressive pad and easy to moderate, I like 'em. Having said that I've never tried Winmax

I get 4 sets of W6.5's to a set of rotors. Last weekend I used 0.2mm of the front rotors and this was general practice in the morning on the National and Open sprints in the afternoon on the clubman. Rough guess about 60 laps on the national and 25 on the clubman. I will start to note the KM's :)

The previous set of W6.5's were installed in 09/18. I can tally up the laps if it will help. These pads did world time attack practice day and the 2 days of competition, a few Morgan Park days and numerous QR events.

Now that I have sorted the bias out I think the rear wear will be a lot less than previous.

Spent a late night mounting the new Davies Craig EWP controller in the tombstone where stereo would normally exist. ImageSince my car has it's own soundtrack the stereo had been flicked long ago and a navman gps had been mounted in it's place. However in any time of day the screen was all but unreadable so a new position is needed for it.
The EWP controller was disassembled and the halves were mounted either side of the alloy panel filling the tombstone centre. I have yet to run the wiring through a grommet in the alloy plate and the tombstone has been temporarily remounted to do the school run.
Quite happy with the mounting as the controller is quite bulky depth-wise and looked a little awkward if simply mounted as per instructions with the supplied Velcro tabs.
Free time today will hopefully see the tombstone mounting plate covered in the same material used for door trims, wiring neatly routed and perhaps the battery kill switch, chase bay's washer res' and chase bay's coolant overflow all in place. Then a good detail to prepare for a cruise to jindalee cars/coffee event on Saturday.

New electric water pump controller mounted in tombstone.
I love this new type of control, it shows temperature, fan and pump activation, indicates any faults rather than ssimply flashing codes as with the earlier type....and it's blue lit screen fits in with all the other interior adornments. I split the control in two and sandwiched the tombstone panel between the two halves to take out the bulk of the unit and covered the panel with the same material I used on the door trims.
Quite happy with the result.

Retrieved the window out of the drivers door after it decided to lower itself by gravity alone. A piece of timber is now holding it in place and new cables are on order.
